printCafe Introduces PrintSmith Site Beta; Web Order Process to On-Demand Printers

Press release from the issuing company

PITTSBURGH, June 21-- printCafe(TM), the operating system for print(TM), today introduced PrintSmith Site, the Internet application of printCafe's print management software for the on-demand, business, and quick printing markets. The PrintSmith Site beta was demonstrated for the first time last week at Connect 2001, printCafe's annual users conference at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, FL. "PrintSmith Site is an exciting new tool to help PrintSmith users communicate faster and more efficiently with their customers,'' said Mike McLain, vice president of sales and operations for printCafe's PrintSmith products. "We look forward to offering our PrintSmith customers the option of using the Internet to increase their availability and response time. We believe this new application will, ultimately, improve their client relationships and allow them to grow their businesses.'' PrintSmith Site incorporates the functionality of PrintSmith, print management software that generates a complete set of production and historical reports from job specifications through final invoicing. Jobs are specified, estimated, placed in production, and completed via data entered in a custom-configured Web site hosted by printCafe and branded to reflect the customer's company identity. Job details are automatically downloaded into the PrintSmith management system and email notifications are sent to the buyer. For customers who already have a Web site, PrintSmith Site integrates seamlessly with the design and navigation of their existing sites. "PrintSmith Site is extremely intuitive as the Web site is configured from within PrintSmith,'' said McLain. "Our PrintSmith customers are amazed at the ease with which they are able to complete orders. We had great interest showing our new product and we were very happy with the large number of orders placed at Connect 2001.'' "It's wonderful that my customers will be able to place an order at the click of a button and it will flow directly into my PrintSmith management system,'' said Randy Herron, president of Herron Printing and Graphics of Gaithersburg, Maryland. "I know exactly what my customer wants, I simply need to produce and deliver.''
