Friday, June 15, 2001

Press release from the issuing company

Atlanta, GA, June 14, 2001 Heidelberg USA and Digital Works today announced a strategic relationship that should give Heidelberg special rights to market the Digital Works 1214U" with the Heidelberg Digimaster 9110 Network Imaging System in the U.S. and Canada. Heidelberg will be the exclusive reseller of 1214U among the OEM distributors of the NexPress 110-page-per-minute digital printing system. Digital Works plans to provide on-site sales and marketing training and application support to Heidelberg s customers as a part of this relationship. Further expansion of this relationship is planned at a later date. A comprehensive package of Web-based software and on-site training, the 1214U solution is tailored to meet the rapidly growing demand for variable data printing applications and personalized marketing materials. Digital Works further enables this application with a broader audience through a thorough set of training and application consulting for print service providers and their customers that show them how to build and implement these programs. “We are very excited about this relationship and look forward to offering a growing suite of software and services for current and future Heidelberg products. Together Heidelberg and Digital Works offer a unique approach to enable commercial printing companies to successfully enter this market and build a sustainable business," said Bruce Ganger, Digital Works president.  “Our services and support reach all the way to the printers' customers, providing a total solution for all parties involved. “We selected Digital Works' solutions to support the Digimaster 9110 because of the straightforward implementation of 1214U and their training and support of our customers and their customers. This approach really gives our customers a proven path forward to enter this growing market and gives us a competitive edge in a very dynamic marketplace," said Eric Frank, Heidelberg USA's Digital Printing & Direct Imaging vice president. The companies plan to demonstrate this new capability for the Digimaster 9110 through a series of seminars and events beginning in July 2001 and continuing throughout the year.
