Xitron Announces XiCopy, A RIP and Interface for Canon, Lanier Color Copiers
Tuesday, June 12, 2001
New Orleans, Louisiana- June 16, 2001 -- Xitron, an independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, announced today the XiCopy system, providing support for high speed digital color output to range of color copiers including Canon, Minolta and Lanier through one common interface solution. The XiCopy system includes a Navigator NT/2000 Harlequin RIP, the XiCopy plugin and interface box connected via SCSI to the RIP PC, HIPP (Harlequin ICC Profile Processor), HDS (Harlequin Dispersed Screens) and a set of standard ICC profiles. The XiCopy interface box manages data sent to the copier. For example, the task of sending multiple copies is managed by the XiCopy interface, freeing up the RIP to process other jobs. RIPped jobs can also be stored on the interface box for output at a later time. In addition, XiCopy supports copier commands such as duplex modes, stack, sort and stapling. XiCopy helps insures data integrity by using the same RIP technology to drive both the final output device and the proofing device while using ICC profiles for color managed output. "This is an excellent proofing solution for the newspaper market, " explains R. Patrick French, VP of Sales and Marketing for Xitron. "XiCopy's proofing quality is sufficient and the speed is exceptional. No other environment must adhere to such strict deadlines."
