dna x Imaging: New Convention All About Imaging and Printing at drupa 2024

Press release from the issuing company

Together with its partner “New C”, drupa is creating a new and exciting presentation format: The five-day convention “dna (drupa next age) x Imaging” will focus on the great importance of imaging technologies with regard to print and communication and bring together the industry’s players.

Why do printed images have a special relevance? What role will AI play for photography and print products in the future? What quality and sustainability requirements will manufacturers and service providers have to meet? And which innovations related to printed images promise market growth in the future? This and other relevant questions are the subject of the convention dna x Imaging, which will be held for the first time during drupa (May 28 – June 7, 2024, in Düsseldorf, Germany). From June 1 – 5, 2024, international experts will provide business ideas and impetus for everything to do with images and printing in intensive inspiration sessions.

“We see many shared technologies and questions as well as markets that overlap and mutually drive each other within the imaging and print business. Therefore, together with ‘New C’ we developed the new format dna x Imaging, which will present new prospects to the international visitors at drupa as well as concrete business potentials”, said Sabine Geldermann, Director drupa, Print Technologies Messe Düsseldorf.

Wolfgang Heinen, CEO New C GmbH & Co KG, added: “Photography and print have always gone together: Newspapers, magazines, photo books, packaging and much more are hardly imaginable without printed images. And the relevant technologies, too, show significant parallels. Printing an image is what makes the content relevant. What potential this has for the future will be revealed by dna x imaging.” The media production company New C has decades of experience in the tech, imaging and media industry.

Theme days from image quality to sustainability
The first day of the convention will be dedicated to “Imaging Artificial Intelligence: How AI defines the future of imaging and print”. In five short impulse lectures, so-called “inspiration snacks”, renowned speakers will not only offer interesting background knowledge but also demonstrate practical inspiration on how this topic can improve one's own business. A final get-together concludes the program each day. The other focal points of the event days will be: “Tomorrow’s imaging print products” (June 2), “What exactly is image quality – and why should I think about it?” (June 3), “Sustainability as an advantage in competing” (June 4) and “Innovations as driving forces in the imaging and print markets” (June 5).

The convention dna X Imaging will take place during drupa on the stage of the dna forum (drupa next age), which brings innovative technology drivers and established companies together with industry newcomers, young talents and start-ups, thus providing impulses for the industry's direction. It will take place in the centrally located Hall 7.0 and attendance is included in the drupa admission price. The conference language will be English. Alongside dna X Imaging, exhibitors are encouraged to present their products and services to visitors in this attention grabbing area. Tickets for drupa 2024 are available at the ticket shop.
