Press release from the issuing company

Gerhardshofen – WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH, the manufacturer of varnishes, inks and adhesives for the graphic arts industry based in Gerhardshofen, Franconia, invited visitors to its Franconian Lacquer Specialities again this year - and thus for the first time after the last event in 2018. Günter Korbacher, Managing Director of WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH on the successful event: "We are delighted that we were finally able to host our traditional Franconian Lacquer Specialities again this year. Unfortunately, due to a pandemic, this was not possible in previous years and it has now been five years since our last event in this series. So it was really nice for us to be able to tell our visitors about all the new and forward-looking investments and facility expansions. After all, we had used the past five years extensively and installed one of the most modern production plants worldwide in our market segment, both in the WB and UV sectors. But we have also expanded our site immensely in the areas of sustainability, production safety and automation and are always proud to be able to present all these innovations at such an event." Günter Korbacher continued: "The fact that the market and our entire industry have changed massively in the last five years was also reflected in the presentations this year. This year, for example, the topics of environmental protection, sustainability and innovative barrier solutions were absolutely in the foreground. Starting with the great lecture by Dr. Martin Watzke on the subject of bio-based raw materials, through the use of our innovative impregnating and barrier coatings as a substitute for plastics in the packaging sector, the use of our gas chromatograph for maximum product safety, right up to the use of energy-saving UV-LED lacquers and inks in packaging, there was pretty much everything on offer in terms of current trends. And this year we again concluded our event with a special and - as always - off-topic lecture. This time by Thomas Lurz, the most successful German swimmer of modern times, on the topic of self- and employee motivation in «open and troubled waters.»"

Arno Dürr concluded by adding, "We very much hope that we will now be able to hold our Lacquer Specialities again on an annual basis as usual and are already looking forward to next year's event - which will finally be a Drupa year again."
