Philadelphia-based DMR Graphics has invested in a second swissQprint Nyala flatbed printer to expand its capacity and capabilities even further. In addition to varnish embellishments, they now offer neon inks and an extended orange and red color gamut.

When an existing aging large format printer of a different brand needed to be replaced, DMR Graphics decided to opt for another 126×79.9” swissQprint Nyala flatbed. The print quality and reliability of their Nyala 3, installed in 2020, made the evaluation process easy, as Jamie McLennan of DMR Graphic explained. “Also, we wanted to offer neon and an extended orange and red gamut to make images ‘pop’.” They had their new Nyala 4 commissioned in May 2023.

Barry Silevitch, Sales Territory Manager at swissQprint America, said: “It’s fulfilling to see a forward-thinking company like DMR Graphics install a second swissQprint based on the reliability, efficiency, and versatility of their first device. We’re excited to see them expand and we feel fortunate to be part of their journey.”

Neon inks
swissQprint is the only supplier of UV printers that offers neon inks. The Nyalas feature nine freely configurable color channels, and DMR Graphics uses them all. Their new Nyala 4 is equipped with CMYK, spot orange, neon yellow, neon pink, effect varnish, and white. Jamie said: “We see a lot of opportunities in neon.” The team is already working on a museum project and has received an inquiry for neon prints in trampoline parks.

Increased capacity
In addition to the extended range of colors, DMR Graphics has now increased its capacity. What is more, they can offer their customers the peace of mind that press redundancy brings. Thanks to the unique swissQprint pin registration system, they can even transfer prints from one to the other printer to add special effects. Jamie explained: “Say, we use the primer on our Nyala 3 and then add neon inks or orange on the Nyala 4.”

Versatility
DMR Graphics, in cooperation with Innvoke, provide designers, display manufacturers, advertising agencies, and graphic designers with print tools to support their marketing and advertising efforts. Given these customers’ different needs, versatility is vital. DMR Graphics offers large format flatbed and roll to roll printing, screen, label, and commercial printing as well as professional photography services and Giclee printing under the parent umbrella of companies known as Innvoke, LLC.

The two swissQprint flatbeds – with the Nyala 3 also featuring a 126” roll to roll option – will handle any project and material: trade show and museum displays on acrylic, polycarbonate, glass, and PVC or then POP displays, wallpaper, wall graphics, raised letter signage, custom printed glass for architectural interiors, fine art prints and much more. DMR Graphics also regularly do spot varnish and embellishments for offset and screen-printed products on these digital printers. Jamie enthused: “We try just about anything that will fit onto the presses.”

In line with the mission
Located near Philadelphia PA and mid-way to NYC DMR Graphics is able to service a variety of vertical markets. Along with its partner companies it provides a host of communications solutions. “Ultimately we assist businesses and organizations to grow via printing, and the two swissQprint flatbeds play a key role in this,” Jamie concluded.
