Truepress Jet L350UV SAI Series Allows Pennsylvania Business to Increase Label Production, Save on Ink and Achieve Flexibility with Regard to Substrates

Press release from the issuing company

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Illinois—SCREEN Americas announces the installation of the Truepress Jet L350UV SAI S model to Professional Business Supplies, Inc., also known as PBS, of York, Pennsylvania. The press, configured with CMYK plus white, orange and blue inks, is the only technology used by the company to support its label business.

PBS is dedicated to serving small businesses and their printing needs, which typically include labels, flyers, business cards, signs and promotional items. With the installation of the Truepress Jet L350UV SAI series, PBS plans to increase label production while simultaneously bringing previously outsourced work back in house. The transition will also afford PBS the opportunity to further capitalize on certain niche markets such as yogurt, cheese, beer and wine.

The Truepress Jet L350UV SAI S replaced the company’s previous inkjet press–one that utilized a water-based ink that subsequently required coating or lamination for protection. The switch resulted in significant savings for the label manufacturer. “Even though the cost per liter for ink was the same with my former inkjet press, more ink was needed,” said Frank Harro, CEO and owner of PBS. “With SCREEN, I have saved a considerable amount of money on ink.”

Additionally, the functionality of the press’ EQUIOS workflow software has reduced the overall time required for prepress operations. “We used to imposition everything manually on the page,” said Harro. “Now the software does it automatically. It sets things in motion allowing for a much faster process when preparing files. Paper shortages are also not an issue with the SAI. If I can’t get one type of substrate, I can easily substitute it with another one. This type of flexibility is extremely beneficial for our business.”

The small footprint that accompanies the Truepress Jet L350UV SAI series is also advantageous for PBS whose facility measures 8,000 square feet. The press’ dimensions are 154.1 inches long by 82 inches wide making it ideal for a small space. “I’m very happy with SCREEN,” said Harro. “The press is paying for itself.”
