SEYBOLD Boston 2001 (April 10, 2001) - CreoScitex, a division of Creo Products Inc. (NASDAQ: CREO; TSE: CRE) introduces Pagelet, a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat, designed to enable the assembly of pages from PDF content. CreoScitex Pagelet assembles PDF "pagelets", partial pages exported to PDF from a variety of sources. PDF pagelets are being used for partial page content, where they have largely replaced EPS, traditionally the defacto standard for the distribution of artwork. EPS suffers from many limitations, including missing fonts, poor preview and weak output on non-PostScript devices. These limitations have made EPS a mediocre solution to the problem of placing artwork. Pagelet is the artwork placement solution by allowing for the assembly of sub-pages within Adobe Acrobat, saving time and effort. Design professionals have discovered that many of their PostScript issues on the desktop are solved in the Adobe distillation process and they are now able to produce high quality printed output using PDF. Pagelet provides standard transformations for full control over the placed PDF including scale, position, ruler, rotate and snap-to grid.
