FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA – David Ashkenaz, owner and principal of Ashkenaz Consulting today announced the launch of their new Budgeted Hourly Rates (BHR) software tool for commercial and in-plant printing operations. According to Ashkenaz, BHR surveys indicating that rates and on a constant and continuous rise, though many managers have not yet adjusted to this opportunity. Without BHR analysis, operations could be undercharging and crushing profit margins.

“With the effects of the pandemic mostly behind us, print shop managers should now be directing their efforts to determining their true costs, and adjusting prices accordingly,” notes Ashkenaz. “Of course, we’re also realizing radical fluctuation in market conditions. We’ve seen many operations not charging enough to reach breakeven levels, especially in bindery and prepress departments.

“Now with our BHR Analysis, owners receive a detailed breakdown of their costs for each department. When properly inserted into PrintSmith or Printer’s Plan, BHR provides a total cost vs selling price comparison. This information is so valuable and impacting to bottom lines.”

David Ashkenaz Background Experience

Four years ago, Ashkenaz Consulting took on Printer’s Plan so that they could help more printers. QuickBooks was added in 2000 and today the majority of printing operation managers use QuickBook for accounting management.
