Rexam Announces High-Res Photobase Media for HP 5000 Ink Jet Printers

Press release from the issuing company

SOUTH HADLEY, MA, March 22, 2001- Rexam Image Products, a worldwide leader in the manufacture of coated paper, films and specialty substrates, today announced that it has extended its line of professional quality, resin-coated photobase papers to include a photobase specifically designed for use with Hewlett-Packard DesignJet 5000, Encad NovaJet and ColorSpan ink jet printers. The 7-mil photobase is available in both high gloss (DMPH170EN5000) and low glare (DMPL170EN5000) versions. Rexam Image Products' new photobase media provides improved whiteness and color gamut, and an extremely smooth surface for high photographic resolution. Both "EN5000" photobase papers feature Rexam's latest topcoat formulation that offers state-of-the-art lightfast characteristics when combined with many popular UV-resistant dye-based inks. "We developed this extension to our photorealistic line of products in response to the growing market of Hewlett-Packard DesignJet 5000 users," said Dan Halkyard, director of marketing at Rexam Image Products. "Also, by delivering a single resin-coated photobase that works across three popular ink jet printing platforms - the HP, Encad and ColorSpan - we are helping to streamline users' production processes and enhance their productivity by eliminating the need for them to have printer-specific compatible media on hand."
