GAMIS Forum Looks into the Future of Newspapers, Catalogs & Magazines

Alexandria, VA (February 27, 2001) A Graphic Arts Marketing Information Service (GAMIS) Forum will be held on May 2, 2001 at the Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore, Maryland. This special session, The Future of Newspapers, Catalogs & Magazines, is scheduled directly before the R&E Council Critical Trends Conference. From 1:30 to 5:00 p.m., the results of recent GAMIS research studies will be revealed and discussed. Any graphic arts professional planning for the future of his or her company will benefit from this forum. CEOs, CFOs, vice presidents, directors of marketing, and strategic planners are encouraged to attend. The three significant end-use segments of the printing industry: newspapers, catalogs, and magazines will be explored individually. Vincent Naselli, senior marketing manager at Agfa Corporation, will present The Outlook and Trends for the Future of Newspapers. In The Future of Catalogs, Charles Neilson forecasts industry growth, identifies trends, and discusses impacts from e-commerce. Mr. Neilson is marketing and sales support manager at Alliance Forest Products. United Litho, Inc.'s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Wayne Peterson, will focus on major trends bearing down on magazine publishers in Magazines in the 2000-2010 Era. He will discuss macro trends (e.g. the economy, Internet, shifting demographics) and trends relating to distribution, readership, advertising, and regulatory issues. Registration fees are $100 for GAMIS members, $125 for PIA members, and $175 for non-members. Registration forms should be received before April 23, 2001.
