Impression Paragraph, one of the largest print companies serving the Quebec market, is significantly expanding digital printing capacity and folding carton application range with the addition of a new 29-inch format HP Indigo 12000 Digital Press.

Installed at Paragraph’s headquarters in Montreal, the press is loaded with the new HP Indigo 15K value pack including thick substrate support up to 24 pt and premium white ink, making it the first of its kind in eastern Canada.

“We will utilize thick substrates to deliver the high-quality, short-run folding carton and other creative applications that have fostered our reputation as a partner rather than a supplier to our customers,” said Martin Lépine, President. “We are eager to embrace the 20 x 29-inch sheet size, white ink and thick substrate capability for our customers, who expect high quality and innovation.”

The new HP Indigo 12000 press features a 5th ink station for white ink and brand spot colors. Paragraph has also installed a coater from Kompac to create a unique production line for short-run folding cartons in Quebec to serve the cosmetics and pharma industries. The press will work in tandem with Paragraph’s new folding carton subsidiary Dumaine.

A user of several generations of HP Indigo digital presses, Paragraph has grown digital business from its first acquisition of the HP Indigo 5500 in 2013 to today’s portfolio consisting of the new HP Indigo 12000 and an HP Indigo 7900.

The HP Indigo 15K digital press and 15K value pack for the HP Indigo 12000 are raising the bar for B2 format printing with new high definition HD print modes, support for thicker substrates up to 24 pt (600 microns), and new high-value, high-impact inks such as premium white and security inks. These offset look and feel presses are now surpassing offset quality with high LPI screens and the new FM print mode that pushes HD imaging technology to its sharpest, smoothest, most detailed image quality.

The acquisition of the HP Indigo 12000 capable of printing on recycled media and ensuring low VOC emissions also supports Paragraph’s sustainability goals. “Paragraph is firmly committed to reducing its ecological footprint by being responsible in the management of its daily operations to minimize any negative impact,” noted Lépine.

Paragraph is also taking advantage of the HP PrintOS cloud-based solution to monitor its operations and access innovative applications in the PrintOS Marketplace.

Founded in 1989, Paragraph has steadily grown and adapted to changing market conditions to become one of the most respected integrated print, document management and digital media companies in the industry. Focused on quality and customer service solutions that are efficient, cost effective and innovative, Paragraph continually delivers exceptional products and services to a wide range of customers that are industry leaders in the financial, manufacturing, health, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, education, and retail sectors.
