Press release from the issuing company

Norwalk, Connecticut, USA – 2/2/01 - Kodak Polychrome Graphics and ECRM Imaging Systems are pleased to announce their mutual certification of Kodak Approval Type 2 digital proofing media for use on the ECRM DesertCat 88 digital proofer and platesetter. "The industry acceptance of Approval proofs in combination with the versatility of the DesertCat 88 is a powerful combination," said Gary Ryerson, director, worldwide marketing - digital proofing, Kodak Polychrome Graphics. "It is a great option for printers who are looking to image high quality digital halftone proofs and plates from one device." ECRM is demonstrating Approval Type 2 media on the DesertCat 88 at the Graphics of the Americas Show in Miami, February 2 - 4. The combination has completed an extensive joint evaluation program, including successful beta tests in the United States, and is available for sale immediately in North America. "We’re excited about the union of the ECRM DesertCat 88 and Approval Type 2 media," said Bob Pouliot, vice president of business development, ECRM. "Our customers place a high value on being able to produce proofs and plates from the same device. With Approval Type 2 media, they also have the confidence of knowing the DesertCat 88 can create a contract quality digital halftone proof." Approval Type 2 media enables a wide range of proofing-enabled computer to plate writers to generate the time proven quality of Kodak Approval proofs. Approval Type 2 media creates real halftone dots on the intended printing stock. The quality obtained is to contract standard, so press operators appreciate the fact that they can match the Approval Type 2 media proof on press.
