And the beat goes on. Lakeland, Fla.’s Douglass Screen Printers is the latest facility—and the first in the Sunshine State—to receive certification by the Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership. The company was founded in 1939 and today comprises a “close-knit family” of more than 40 artists, printers and support personnel in the company’s three Lakeland locations. DSP is a combination screen and digital printing facility and offers a full array of weather-durable graphics such as decals, posters, banners, signs, tags, wraps, and nameplates. In addition to SGP certification, DSP also recently received a Sustainable Business award from Earth Charter US for sustainable business practices “that embrace social, economic and environmental responsibility.” Achieving the SGP certification, the company says, also allowed them to become leaner and more profitable by reducing waste and adding green-based product lines.

“SGP Certification has positioned DSP as Florida’s first green, screen and digital printer,” comments Lane K. Hickey-Wiggins, President/CEO. “This achievement has renewed pride in our company, knowing that it will positively affect our community and our customers, in addition to our conscience.”
