Some years ago, Dell had launched a global initiative that offered free recycling of any Dell product. The latest
news on this front is that Dell has partnered with Staples—1,500 Staples locations in the U.S. will accept Dell products for recycling. (This also expands on Staples' current in-store recycling program.) Adds Environmental Leader:
Eco International will handle the recycling of equipment, following guidelines set by the EPA. The program also adheres to Dell’s recycling policies, which prohibit export of waste and the landfill of any environmentally sensitive materials.
More and more companies—big box retailers like Best Buy and Office Depot and computer hardware manufacturers like Lenovo and Toshiba—are offering e-waste recycling, which is an encouraging trend.
