AIGA, the professional association for design, is now accepting entries for its Second Annual (Re)design Awards, “a distinguished design competition that showcases the importance and innovation of sustainable and socially responsible work created by design professionals, students, educators, and businesses and organizations from around the world.” Continues the organization:
The competition includes two categories: Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability. To qualify for the Social Responsibility category, the design must be for a business or organization whose mission is social responsibility. To qualify for the Environmental Sustainability category, the entry must be an environmentally sustainable design for a business or organization.
The contest is open to design professionals, students, educators, businesses, and organizations. The deadline is July 22, 2011. The winners will be announced and fêted at a gala event on October 27, 2011, at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
