Over at the Mother Ship, Stacey Skotzko has an
interview on the subject of corporate sustainability in the printing industry with Marcos Esterman, assistant professor in industrial and systems engineering, and Sandra Rothenberg, an associate professor, at RIT’s Saunders College of Business.
We have seen environmental issues become more prominent in the industry over the past few years. It is fair to say that both the printers and consumers are demanding the change. Which is the driver, is not always easy to tell. On the one hand, manufacturers and printers recognize that sustainability is playing an ever-increasing role in the decision to use a particular product or service. On the other, manufactures and printers recognize not only that regulatory pressures will increase over time, but that implementing sustainable practices also leads to increased profitability.
