Speaking of paper companies, Finch Paper has launched
a new Web site designed to educate print buyers and others about the myriad environmental logos there are in the paper and print industry, with links to downloads—as well as the caveats regarding terms of use, etc. (i.e., if you’re going to use a logo that reads “printed on Finch Paper” it might be a good idea to be using Finch Paper...likewise FSC-/SFI logos).
We here in the Going Greenosphere are fairly well-versed in forestry and other certification programs, but not all print buyers—and not all printers—have been able to consume the seeming alphabet soup of organizations. The more we as an industry can offer clear, simple educational resources, the better for everyone. It would be great to see sites like this expand to cover the gamut of the graphic communications process—SGP, for example.
