On a quest to minimize the toxic impacts of the printing process, Marilyn Jones of Consolidated Printing, Chicago, has experimented with products commonly found in the home pantry. She uses cooking oil as a roller lubricant, vinegar as a neutralizer, and fabric softener as a wetting agent. Over the last 20 years, Marilyn has converted her company to an all-vegetable process, including inks, pigments and solutions. Today, the company is petroleum and carcinogen free. The following video came from Green Exchange about a year ago. If you missed it the first time, take a look. If you've seen it before, it's worth watching again! .
