  • Bienfang Products (Milford, Connecticut), a division of Elmer’s Products, for establishing a sustainability team. This team, comprised of employees in all major facility departments, has created objectives such as scaling up a pilot recycling program for newspapers, magazines and corrugated materials.
  • Classic Stripes Pvt Ltd. (Taluka Vasai, Thane; India), a screen and digital print shop and previous environmental recognition honoree, has established an emergency response team.
SGIA’s Environmental Recognition Award, in its eighth year, highlights the growing role environmental issues play in today’s business world by spotlighting member companies that have established clear goals for lessening their environmental impact. SGP - Sustainable Green PrintingAs a founding member of the Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) program, SGIA has also stepped forward to help companies build toward a successful triple bottom line. The SGP program is under development and has developed a set of criteria that will be used to define as a SGP Printer. As sustainability does not focus on one area of a business, SGP criteria focus on all areas of the printing facility. To learn more go to: www.sgpartnership.org.
