PIM Great PrinterLet’s don’t look at this as yet another certification program; but as one of the original certifications. Since 1997, the Printing Industries of Minnesota has offered a certification program called the Great Printer Environmental Initiative. The Initiative is a voluntary program aimed at increasing environmental, health and safety compliance and pollution prevention within the printing industry. A printer that chooses to participate in the PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative is one that has demonstrated that they minimize their company’s impact on human health and the environment. There are three criteria companies must meet before qualifying for the program:
  1. Commit to the PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative principles
  2. Complete an environmental, health and safety compliance audit
  3. Pursue environmental projects beyond compliance
