Full-service communications company Diamond Marketing Solutions recently began migrating clients to a new transpromo environment that eliminates the need for preprinted forms, creates a single workflow and provides greater opportunity to sell space on transactional documents. “There is a huge benefit to us in providing this additional capability to our customers because, whether they use it or not right now, they are all thinking about it,” says Mark Peterson, president and CEO at Diamond Marketing Solutions. Giving its clients – which include large statement and billing processing firms in the healthcare, financial, insurance and retail arenas – the ability to offer their customers this kind of flexibility “certainly provides a lot of value,” he adds. Diamond Marketing Solutions first considered investing in a comprehensive transpromo platform back in 2006 at the request of one large client. The client was interested in getting on a single platform since its data was being developed and processed in multiple locations. At the same time, it wanted to find a solution that would enable it to consolidate the hundreds of preprints that were being managed by Diamond Marketing Solutions and provide a way for its customers – which include hospitals and physician groups – an opportunity to market services and sell white space. The final decision in a vendor solution was put off until February of this year, however, while Diamond Marketing Solutions concentrated on building a database that matches insurances codes with articles relative to what a patient is in the hospital for. “We’re at the point now where we can take advantage of all that full variable color print offers us,” Peterson says. He adds that providing clients the ability to include marketing messaging on their transactional documents will be a focus for Diamond Marketing Solutions going forward now that its has these new capabilities. The firm chose InfoPrint Solutions as its transpromo partner because of the functionality of InfoPrint’s solution, the firm’s leading technology and its customer support, said Peterson. The solutions chosen by Diamond Marketing Solutions include InfoPrint5000, a continuous forms digital inkjet system; InfoPrint ProcessDirector, a workflow automation and print management software package that manages end-to-end output process from a single point of control, and InfoPrint Solutions Professional Solutions. The first machine was installed in July and the second in December. “We’re in the midst of a complete redevelopment and retooling of the data,” Peterson noted. The goal is to be able to allow clients to online and build their own marketing messages on transactional documents in real-time. One financial services client has already transitioned over to the platform – in just 10 days – and Diamond Marketing Solutions is in the process of moving the large healthcare client over. The latter is a particularly complex job, which is why it is taking so long. This client is dealing with five different processing centers and files that were developed without any standards, explained Peterson. The immediate benefits to the client will include the elimination of the need for preprinted stock and improved data workflow and data management, increasing the opportunities to create marketing messages on transactional documents.
