A report in today's drupa report daily stated the Italian digital printer Pixart has just ordered seven HP Indigo 7000 digital presses. The company has achieved a 100% annual growth for the past four years and is replacing its existing 5000 and five 3050 presses with the new machines. Pixart's Chairman and owner Matteo Rigamonto stated he needed more production and to optimize the workflow. He then stated "after this deal we are like the Ryanair of the print industry - we have the same plane, the same spare parts and the same skills for the operators." (For those who do not know Ryanair it is the most efficient airline in Europe running around 200 identical Boeing 737-800 planes).

I think this is a wonderful idea, I just hope that Pixart don't offer the same aggressive and rude customer service to its customers that Ryanair is famous for with its customers.

HP Indigo is having a great drupa. It previously announced an order for 36 HP Indigo presses for Consolidated Graphics in USA.
