Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name. Print industry associations are like that. Once you become involved, you find a vast group of people to talk and trade ideas with. You enter a hive where you are not alone facing challenges. If you haven’t considered joining, or you looking for more groups for networking, this is the year to jump in!
Our mission is to provide cogent commentary and analysis about trends, technologies, operations, and events in all the markets that comprise today’s printing industry. Support our mission and read articles like this with a Premium Membership.

Pat, thanks for this inspiring endorsement of trade associations. I've worked with and for trade associations throughout most of my career, and I can attest that the services they provide are highly valuable. They also serve as a voice and an advocate for the industry when it needs representation, as in the current attempt by the New York State Legislature to ban the use of carbon black in packaging. Paying dues to belong to a trade association is an investment that pays off in many different ways. I'd urge every unafilliated printing business to join its peers in a trade association – truly a whole that's greater than the sum of its parts!
Thank you very much Pat for bringing the importance of Associations to the forefront. We here at PGCA (Print & Graphic Communications Association) really are those Association people who care deeply about the Print industry in NY, NJ, DE and PA and beyond! Associations can provide so much support to Print companies - large and small. We really can be their cheapest employee that can assist with challenges across all departments! PGCA's current membership is 400 Print industry companies strong, and our network of support and knowledge not only reaches locally but nationally in collaboration with the Americas Printing Association Network - our sister Associations. We would love to welcome any inquiries about services, products and overall membership ROI - just drop me a line! [email protected]
