Data as an asset? You bet! Data as a product? Think about it... What trends can be identified from the "Big Data" in a small business. Local trends have value. Make it generic (as in not revealing private/personal business info) and there are buyers for that micro data.
It is similar to bakers selling day old bread. If printers aren't as smart as a baker, then good luck staying in business.
