American Litho, a leading US direct mail solutions company, signed for a new HP PageWide Web Press T240 HD at Inkjet Summit 2019 to expand data-driven, variable content color printing services.
The high-speed HP PageWide Web Press T240 HD is the most productive and versatile press in its class, delivering high-quality inkjet color using HP’s High Definition Nozzle Architecture (HDNA) technology.
The Chicago-area printer and multichannel communications provider serves clients in financial services, insurance, retail, health care, fast food, travel, entertainment, health and beauty, education and more.
“The HP PageWide HD system gives us the power to offer 100% variable content at a level of speed and cost efficiency that provides solutions for our customers’ needs. It also opens the doors to new possibilities,” said Mike Fontana, President, American Litho.
With the HP PageWide Web Press T240 HD, the American Litho team uses one integrated process to create sophisticated, high-quality color mailers, catalogs, postcards and other projects that feature customer names and variable offers based on customer demographics and known preferences.
“Customers investing in this new HP technology enjoy category-leading print quality, productivity, versatility and economics that are valued by discerning publishers and brands,” said Vahaaj Khan, HP Americas Sales Manager.
American Litho uses Amerilytics, an advanced data analytics suite, to create predictive models that target and retarget potential customers, boosting response rates and ROI. “Clients look to us for new ways to reach thousands, even millions of new customers – and having the new HP PageWide HD press on our production floor empowers us to deliver what they need,” said Fontana.
An innovator in digital printing services, American Litho has also adopted the HP Indigo 12000 Digital Press and advanced full-color HP ink jet imaging heads from HP SPS.
“HP helps us lead the print and direct mail industry with innovative, creative, cost-effective solutions. Our clients rely on us for the latest in marketing thinking and the digital firepower to move projects smoothly from initial concept to measurable results. HP brings not only amazing new technology to meet that challenge, but also gives us the full implementation support we need to get up to speed rapidly,” added Fontana.
Sustainability and reduction of print waste is another major focus throughout American Litho’s state-of-the-art, 320,000-square-foot main facility. HP PageWide web press production helps minimize trim waste and offers the widest choice of sustainably produced paper stocks, along with water-based inks that are eco-friendly.
American Litho has grown from a small print shop staffed by a handful of employees to a team of nearly 350 working in Carol Stream, Illinois, with satellite offices in strategic Midwest cities. In 2018 the Chicago Tribune named American Litho the region’s #1 mid-sized employer, citing the open-door policies of company founders Mike Fontana and Chris Joyaux in creating a culture of collaboration and innovation that ensures print excellence.
