OcÈ Unveils New e-Business Initiative for Imaging Supplies Division

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago, IL -- OcÈ today announced the launch of their online storefront, an e-business offering that will support the complete selection and purchase of a wide range of color display graphics products, as well as be the first site to provide 24x7 online technical support for wide-format media. The site will also contain support for its dealer network and an online community for the graphics, signage and related industries. This new site, accessed via www.oceusa.com, is the first of OcÈ's comprehensive e-business initiatives and will be available as a pilot site in the fourth quarter of 2000. From the site, OcÈ Imaging Supplies' customers can order color display graphics supplies and obtain technical support in the areas of digital color, dealer location, and customer service. Questions can be answered on an array of subjects, from how to select media for different applications to the best media alternatives for specific equipment. Within a few months, customers will be able to access a growing on-line resource center with a database of evolving and updated technical tips and techniques, product applications, FAQs, printer compatibility and competitive cross-reference information, and download color profiles. "OcÈ Imaging Supplies online is designed to give our customers access to an e-workplace and make it easier, faster and more cost-effective to do business with OcÈ," said Bruce Winfield, vice president of marketing for OcÈ's Imaging Supplies Division. "As more and more companies move towards doing business digitally, OcÈ is leveraging the Internet to help customers control costs, save time, enhance productivity and improve quality - in this case by providing online application tips, streamlined ordering processes and on-line technical support." Over the next few months, OcÈ will be adding functionality to the resource center portion of this site. Currently, it includes an online shopping cart, fulfillment services, a pick, pack and ship service, multiple freight options, samples, and customer queries. OcÈ's strategy in building the site is to bring together market-proven technologies for the site's design and architecture, e-business transactions, fulfillment and shipping. This provides customers with the ability to harness OcÈ's core capabilities and expertise within imaging supplies through a leading-edge online solution that ultimately helps them to provide superior response times, quality and efficiency in an industry that is predominantly deadline-driven.
