AF&PA “Encouraged” by EPA’s Announcement Regarding Work on Carbon-Neutral Biomass Policy

Washington, D.C. – American Forest & Paper Association President and CEO Donna Harman issued the following statement regarding the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Feb. 13 announcement regarding its work on a carbon-neutral policy for biomass.

“We are encouraged that the Environmental Protection Agency is committed to taking action on the Congressional directive to produce clear, science-based policies that reflect the carbon neutrality of biomass and recognize it as a renewable energy source. Providing regulatory certainty will foster paper and wood product manufacturing growth and help ensure the U.S. is in step with global competitors.”
