Muller Martini Primera Saddle Stitchers Now in Demo Room

Press release from the issuing company

(August 06, 2008) - Newsprint, lightweight 4 page signatures, large production vacuum opening, curled spine, inconsistent lap...they can all be serious challenges in producing saddle stitched jobs rapidly and profitably. Muller Martini, the world leader in print finishing innovation, is meeting those challenges right now with its new line of Primera saddle stitchers. And to show its customers how advanced Primera equipment is, particularly Primera's feeder technology, Muller is inviting customers to visit the company's Demo Room in Hauppauge, Long Island, New York and bring with them their most difficult print finishing jobs. Customer jobs will be produced live on a Primera machine on the Demo Room floor.

"Our exciting new line of Primera saddle stitchers incorporates engineering advancements and innovative features that are above and beyond virtually any other stitching equipment on the market today," said Doug Stryker, Muller Martini Division Manager, Print Finishing Systems.  "Muller Martini invites printers and bindery professionals throughout the industry to take the Primera challenge as soon as possible, and see in-person what these amazing machines are capable of and how they can make fast work of the most difficult stitching jobs."

The new Muller Martini line of Primera saddle stitchers, which can process stitched products in a wide array of dimensions, includes the Primera 140 (maximum running speed 14,000 c/hr.), the Primera 130 (max. 13,000 c/hr.) and the Primera 110 (max. 11,000 c/hr.). Key to Primera performance, and what truly separates the new line from competitive stitchers, is Muller Martini's proprietary "magic wheel" feeder technology, available on the 130 and 140 models‚Äì which controls signatures more precisely and allows difficult jobs such as smaller sized products and products run on thinner stocks to be produced with higher speed and efficiency than was previously possible.

"Our new feeder technology redefines state-of-the-art," continued Mr. Stryker.  "With Primera stitchers and our 'magic wheel' solution, signature tolerances can be held with much better control, inline adjustments can be made extremely easily, and there are far less stoppages in the line...all of which means faster turnarounds and enhanced profits for stitching operations."

In addition to its newly engineered feeders, the Muller Martini Primera line of saddle stitchers offers varying levels of automation ‚Äì from partial to full automation ‚Äì that can be tailored to the individual needs of a print finishing business, enabling operations to maximize the set-up and changeover productivity of Primera machines depending on the kinds of jobs they run.  Job preparation is further enhanced with new touchscreens and an intuitive set-up wizard that takes the operator step by step through the various phases of readying the equipment for production.  Each machine in the Primera line is ergonomically designed to provide such important benefits as more convenient access to controls and a smoother interaction between operator and machine, as well as a higher level of safety.
