'Print’s Special Effects Magic' Sets Record

Press release from the issuing company

PaperSpecs recorded the largest registrations ever for one of its free webinars. Over 1,500 creatives signed up for Print’s Special Effects Magic. Those who joined the record-breaking event responded with high praise for the speaker, the content and the complimentary copy of “The Standard 5” from Sappi.

“The seminar was amazing. I'm so pumped about the different effects that can be created through printing.”

“Thank you PaperSpecs, Sappi and Daniel for making the workplace a playground. Today's presentation was captivating! Can't wait for a gig that is as enthusiastic as I to implement a few tricks seen here.”

Sappi Fine Paper’s North American ETC Print & Creative Manager Daniel Dejan was the special guest speaker. Based upon the recently released “The Standard 5: Special Effects and Finishing Techniques,” he revealed tricks and tips that designers can use to bring additional sensory qualities to print:

  • How the equipment and cutting process works
  • How to incorporate laser cutting into a variety of projects
  • How the cost is determined
  • How to prepare final art in a laser-friendly format
  • How to get the most visual impact from your laser art

These special effects and techniques impart tactile, dimensional and interactive elements and are more accessible than ever before. Many are easy for designers to prepare and can be done inline on a conventional press.

The webinar demonstrated fresh ways to expand the experience of print. If you didn’t have a chance to attend the webinar, a recording is now available.
