Global Imaging Systems acquires Iowa's Premier Office Equipment

Press release from the issuing company

Tampa, Fla. - Global Imaging Systems, A Xerox Company, has acquired Premier Office Equipment, Inc., one of Iowa's largest office equipment dealers.

The acquisition furthers Global Imaging's strategy of creating a nationwide network of locally-based providers focused on improving document workflow and office efficiency for small and mid-size businesses.  Two weeks ago, Global Imaging Systems acquired the assets of United Business Solutions of Addison, Ill., and earlier this year, Global Imaging acquired the assets of Florida Imaging & Network Systems.

Established in 1999, Premier Office Equipment, located in Marshalltown, Iowa, is an independent distributor of copiers, printers and multifunction systems, serving small and medium businesses in 17 counties. Premier will immediately begin offering Xerox's full range of office multifunction products.

"Premier Office Equipment has established an outstanding reputation for delivering superior office technology and exceptional customer service.  The Premier team is a great fit with Global Imaging's customer-focused approach," said Michael Shea, president and CEO of Global Imaging Systems.

The former owners of Premier Office Equipment, Terry Barnes, James Chevalier, Nick Grossman and Roger Wilkens, will remain with the company.
