Second Summer University 2003 repeats 2002 success

Press release from the issuing company

September 3, 2003 -- This July, twenty managers from the print and media industry in 16 different countries came together at this year’s Summer University organized by Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). The managers visiting the Print Media Academy were given an insight into the key management and technology trends affecting everyday practice. This year’s students included visitors from Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, China, Lebanon, Italy, France and Ecuador. Over the course of seven days they acquired considerable expertise in a whole range of fields, including general management, customer relationship management, personnel management and investment planning. However, the students also contributed to the seminars by drawing on their own specific experience gained from practice. “Practical relevance is important, since the right mixture of theory and practice makes the learning process easier,” explains Bernd Schopp, Head of the Print Media Academy. Results that are based on the students’ own needs and work situation can then be integrated directly into their own routines. Visits to the Wiesloch plant, trips to customers, discussions with Bernhard Schreier, CEO of Heidelberg, and Holger Reichardt, Board Member for Marketing and Sales, and a reception in Heidelberg’s City Hall rounded off the compact course of study.
