Heidelberg and Formscan work to enhance document integrity on Digimasters
Press release from the issuing company
ROCHESTER, N.Y. Aug. 21, 2003 — Heidelberg and Formscan Inc. are collaborating to integrate Heidelberg’s Digimaster print systems with Formscan’s verification control products.
As a result of this collaboration, Digimaster print system customers can further ensure the quality and accuracy of documents printed on the high-volume devices. Formscan’s verification camera systems collect job data in real time and deliver workflow status reports, giving users greater control over document integrity, including data tracking at the document and page levels and page sequence.
Typical applications for Formscan’s solutions — which can be customized to meet print businesses’ individual needs — include the production of credit card statements, insurance policies and check printing to ensure the correct job is printed on the correct paper stock and that customer confidential information is properly handled.
"Our Digimaster product family produces the highest-quality digital black-and-white printed pieces in the industry," said Leonard Christopher, vice president of workflow solutions, Heidelberg’s Digital Print Solution Center. "By integrating Formscan’s solutions, we are giving our customers yet another means of workflow control, to make sure their high-value jobs are printed exactly how and when they want them to be — which will be particularly beneficial to our customers in transactional environments."
"Formscan is pleased to combine our world-class verification solutions with Heidelberg’s Digimaster devices," said William T. Riley, senior vice president of sales and business development, Formscan, Inc. "This collaboration gives Formscan access to Digimaster customers worldwide, who can now benefit from the state-of-the-art control features of our verification tools."
Formscan’s solutions now integrate with the Digimaster systems developed and manufactured by Heidelberg’s Digital Print Solution Center — and available to customers through Heidelberg Market Centers worldwide. Heidelberg will not sell the Formscan verification control products directly, but they will refer interested customers to the company.
