Strathmore Writing and Script Portfolios Reveal Design Thinking Behind Identities
Press release from the issuing company
October 29, 2007 - Cohoes, NY - The leading paper for corporate identities is a growing favorite among businesses of all types. That's the message in the two newest promotions by Chicago-based VSA Partners for Strathmore Writing and Strathmore Script.
From Exploration to Implementation 1 and 2 show the full potential of Strathmore Writing and Strathmore Script, by providing insight into the choices made during identity design. Each portfolio documents the development of three identity systems for three very different, high-end clients. The Strathmore Writing promotion features a specialty tile maker, a real-estate developer, and a boutique hotel - each with pullout samples of business cards, envelopes and letterheads. Similarly, the Strathmore Script kit showcases designs for a children's clothing boutique, a chemical manufacturer, and a sustainable products company.
VSA activated its entire design network to produce the promotions, with over 72 logo explorations and two completely realized identity systems for each client. Accompanying each identity is a rationale and text developed as a model client presentation. According to VSA partner, Jamie Koval, "We were impressed by the feature-diversity of these lines - whether it was the luxurious cotton content of Strathmore Writing or the environmental benefits of Strathmore Script, or the beautiful range of finishes. Each product line will appeal to a wide range of different businesses, so we wanted to find a way to bring the full range of attributes to life in a way that would be meaningful to both designers and their clients."
Strathmore Writing features pure cotton, 25% cotton, and digital i-Tone papers, in a range of shades including new 99-bright Platinum White and subtle "blends." Strathmore Script includes FSC-certified, 100% PCW options in a range of whites and elegant fibered shades. Elegant new Strathmore Script Pinstripe Laid is a toner-friendly digital finish with an elegant surface. A full range of text and cover options are available throughout the lines.
In addition to their reputation for quality and elegance, Strathmore Writing and Script are also the most responsible environmental choice. 100% of the electricity used to manufacture Strathmore Writing and Script is offset with certified windpower certificates. By also offsetting the thermal energy emissions associated with the production of this product, this paper is effectively made carbon neutral.
