The Document Management Industries Association (DMIA) Announces New Association Name

Press release from the issuing company

10/18/07 -- The Document Management Industries Association (DMIA) announced its new name at the 38th annual Print Solutions Conference & Expo this week. On October 17th, the Print Services & Distribution Association (PSDA) was introduced to nearly 1500 industry executives.
“DMIA was too ambiguous, to narrow, to adequately describe our current membership and the industry we support. There are many companies today that would benefit tremendously from being a part of our organization, but were not able to relate to the DMIA brand,” commented Peter Colaianni, executive vice president for PSDA. “This is a very exciting transition. The new name clearly defines who we are and who we serve. PSDA reaffirms the association’s commitment to the print distribution industry.”
Over the course of the next year, Colaianni expects great things from PSDA and believes that its membership base will grow due to the direction the association is taking to driving the industry forward. “Our industry has been evolving for the past couple of years,” said Colaianni. “The new products and services that are available today are advancing the print solutions that our members can offer their clients (the end user). Print Services & Distribution Association is a more relatable to these individuals.”
PSDA is the only association exclusively focused on serving the print distribution channel. In addition to the new association name and logo, PSDA has launched a new website, www.psda.org, and is looking to expand the scope of services they provide in the upcoming year. PSDA’s current membership base is comprised of print distributors, print brokers, trade printers and suppliers. The executive board sees this base expanding to include creatives, agencies and commercial printers, as well as through strategic partnerships with other associations as PSDA is more equip to serve the needs of a broader range of businesses in the printing industry.
The Print Services & Distribution Association will continue to offer its members top-notch services like the Source Hotline, the most inclusive referral database in the industry; the Solutions Center, a comprehensive online system of industry reports, contracts and management tools; Print University, an extensive online training vehicle; award-winning publications; national and regional events; and much more.
