Styria has weekly newspapers, daily newspapers, magazines, web-based publication and services, radio and TV stations, as well as a book publishing division with a large chain of book retail stores and operates in Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. Styria has the goal of being the leading Media company in each area, this is especially the case with daily, weekly and monthly newspapers (Kleine Zeitung and Steirer Monat), on-line services, commercial radio stations (Antenne Steiermark and Antenne KŠrnten) and commercial TV stations (KT1, Steiermark 1). Styria Wochenzeitungen and Beteiligungs GmbH & Co KEG is Styria's holding company for operation of weekly newspapers. The publications with the highest circulation exceed more than 720,000 copies per week. With these Publications Styria readership is more than 950,000. When Styria begins to install the complete alfa OpenMedia solution, all of the commercial and technical operations of the company will be greatly simplified and optimized. An important part is the complete advertising solution alfa AdSuite Enterprise for print and Internet. The solution covers every aspect of advertising from commercial details to managing the composition and production, and from the simplest classified advertisement to the most complicated display ad. AdSuite Enterprise is a very comprehensive advertising system with built-in CRM functionality. AdSuite Enterprise is a product for selling, receiving and managing ads and advertisers. It is built with the latest technology making it suitable to be the integrated backbone of any organization that has ads as their business; integrates all procedures in handling ads in one efficient tool resulting in minimal time spent by staff and higher customer satisfaction. Built-in composition tools allow for on-the-spot composition and collaboration with the advertiser. ASE also integrates with Adobe InDesign(r) and Quark XPress(r). Advertising is more and more about volume-to be profitable means to know your business. ASE gives the best possible overview built on the latest Java Enterprise standards allowing for quick and robust integration with financial and production solutions. As an integral part of the solution we also find alfa AdCounter-the solution for taking advertisements via the Internet. This enables private, as well as corporate advertisers to book, compose and manage high quality advertising directly over the Internet. It is built with the latest web-technologies and presents cutting edge functionality to media companies focused on serving their advertisers on the Internet. Utilizing alfa AdCounter, advertisers can build their own ads based on their personalized templates; they can book the ads on the right dates and in the right editions. Advertisers can manage their own accounts, see what they have spent, when they have advertised, and rebook ads all online! Advertisers can even manage their inventory of properties, cars or whatever they want to bring to market, and based on templates, produce appropriate advertisements from that inventory. Media companies can open a new revenue stream taking ads around the clock, without adding staff and with increased customer satisfaction. alfa OpenMedia CMS is the overall content management and archiving system integrated with all the other modules. Finally, it is also planned to deploy alfa e-dition, the solution for displaying a printed publication (such as a newspaper) in a one-to-one presentation on the Internet-this also includes the voice synthesizing module alfa e-Voice. It opens a new way of integrating a presence on the Internet with printed products, while protecting the Media company's brand and audience. Intelligent links to content presented on the Internet, readers can read, print and e-mail specific articles, images or ads. Advertisements presented can contain extra information and links compared to the printed product. Reader can branch off to see more detailed information presented by the advertiser on the Internet. alfa Media Solutions introduced this suite of on-line solutions to the Newspaper marketplace at the NEXPO Exhibition earlier this month. alfa Media Solutions resides with its sister company alfaQuest Technologies, Inc., a long-term supplier to North American newspapers of Workflow and CTP production systems. alfaQuest will provide services regarding IT infra-structure and physical installation to North American Clients.
