WMSG Uses NEXPRESS 2100 Press to Meet High Volume, High Quality Needs of Large Clients

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Mar. 30 -- Williamson Marketing Services Group (WMSG) of Dallas uses a battery of five KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 digital presses to meet the high volume, high customization and high quality demands of a group of clients that found personalized direct mail can spike sales results. “We position ourselves as a tactical partner, supporting the strategies they develop. We fit nicely under the implementation umbrella and do our best work for clients who understand their customers,” said Jim Liszewski, President of WMSG. “The data we use for these direct marketing programs is based on a person’s past behavior and we can use the data to develop predictive models. When you link all of this data to the creative at the point of a program, you have an effective marketing solution.” According to Liszewski, WMSG bought its first KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 digital production color press in 2003. The company now has five of the units, giving his shop the capacity to turn out 120,000 pieces a day of 11? x 18? sheets, printed, cut, folded and ready to mail. During the final nine months of 2005, WMSG printed 16 million pieces for its customers. “Our ability to digitally print is one part of the equation, but just as important is our finishing and mailing capability that allows us to place marketing pieces into the mail stream almost as soon as printed. The production capability, along with our central U.S. location that puts us within two days of every USPS Bulk Mail Center, meets our customers’ cost and delivery demands,” stated Liszewski. “Once they have tasted the technology and see the results, they want more. Once the designers find out that with the NEXPRESS 2100 press they can design a piece to a specific individual, they quickly get very creative and very personal,” Liszewski said. “Speed to market is important to ad agencies’ clients and this technology enables WMSG to meet incredible deadlines, even making copy and image changes during production runs. In addition, we were never allowed to sacrifice quality. The pieces we produce have been of the highest brand quality, regardless of the device. The NEXPRESS 2100 press allowed us to exceed the quality requirements while still producing over 16 million pieces, a record for high quality color VDP.” According to Liszewski, Dallas based WMSG is one of the largest commercial VDP providers in North America. WMSG’s clients include leading import automotive brands, financial services firms and casino gaming resorts. The company added digital capabilities so that it could serve new customers and grow its business, Liszewski said. “In working with outstanding customers like WMSG who have installed KODAK NEXPRESS digital printing solutions alongside offset presses, we find that in addition to growth from digital, they also see an increase in their conventional print volumes. Flexibility and innovation in service bring new customers to the shop and keep regular customers satisfied,” said Michael K. Howard, Vice President, Marketing, Digital Printing Solutions, Kodak. “Kodak has made ardent supporters out of us. We’ve been impressed by the way the development and engineering staff works with the sales staff. We’re pretty demanding. They are a partner that understands us and works in step with our team,” Liszewski said. “WMSG believes that dynamic, high quality variable data printing is the future of our business.”
