Press release from the issuing company

Hauppauge, New York – Today’s graphic arts industry is seeking economical yet highly productive ways to produce printed materials. Visitors to the Orlando Graphics show found all that and more at the Muller Martini exhibit. Orlando Graphics was held April 1-3, 2005 at the Orange County Convention Center. During the show, Muller Martini, the world’s leading provider of print finishing systems, displayed its Presto saddle stitcher which was connected to a versatile Palamides Delta 502 banding machine. Muller also demonstrated all-in-line its AmigoPlus perfect binding system, its SigmaTower cooling station, and its Esprit three-knife trimmer. “We’re pleased to say that printers, binding companies and other businesses throughout all areas of the graphic arts industry look to Muller Martini for leading-edge solutions in print finishing,” said Werner Naegeli, President and CEO of Muller Martini Corp. “I’m certain that many Orlando Graphics show visitors came away from our booth having gained valuable insights and creative ideas about how they can make their operations more competitive while also expanding their service offerings and profit potential.” Presto Saddle Stitcher and Palamides Delta 502 Banding Machine The automated Muller Martini Presto saddle stitcher performs at a speedy 9,000 c/hr. and can stitch a wide range of products in many different sizes. Featuring menu guided PLC controls for fast, user-friendly setup and rapid changeovers, the Presto saddle stitcher includes a high/low folio, gripper and suction opening for smooth, trouble-free operation. Presto also boasts flying stitching heads without stop and go motion to assure precise stitching and less wear, as well as side caliper and missing stitch detector to assure perfect-quality products. The Palamides Delta 502 banding machine utilizes a new and fully automatic delta delivery design to provide sturdy and easy-to-handle stacks, ensuring fast and accurate removal of printed materials for subsequent transport to other processing machines. What’s more, when used with saddle stitchers such as the Muller Martini Presto, printed piles can be removed by one person...even with 2-up and 3-up production at full running capacity, streamlining operations. Other impressive features of the Delta 502 include its ability to produce 600 packages per hour, plus, a patented process that enables bundling to be executed in the jogging station where printed products are collected – ensuring that products can be processed in a neat and orderly manner (even challenging products which spread out at the binding edge, are slippery, or uneven). AmigoPlus binder, SigmaTower cooling station, and Esprit trimmer By exhibiting its AmigoPlus perfect binder, SigmaTower cooling station, and Esprit three-knife trimmer all-in-line, Muller Martini gave Orlando Graphics show visitors a look at a comprehensive way to handle smaller runs cost effectively. Typically, this type of versatile end-to-end system has been available only with larger, high output technology. However, Muller Martini engineers have taken many of the same benefits found on bigger equipment and combined those benefits into a full function entry level system that makes smaller runs more efficient. The Muller Martini AmigoPlus perfect binder runs at speeds up to 1,500 cycles per hour and it’s ideal for high quality adhesive binding of books, catalogs, annual reports and many other varied jobs. AmigoPlus provides extremely quick set up and changeover, which are keys to successfully competing in the short- and medium-run markets. SigmaTower is a compact cooling tower which ensures that perfect bound books and adhesives are optimally cooled. SigmaTower is part of the Muller Martini SigmaLine, the fully integrated commercial-quality solution for book-on-demand production. The Esprit three-knife trimmer delivers the best possible trim quality at an economical price. Esprit has an automatic, motorized makeready system and can handle a diverse array of jobs, making it an exceptional complement to the AmigoPlus perfect binder.
