EFI Releases PrinterSite Internal 2.0 with Powerful Enhancements and Brand-New User Interface
Press release from the issuing company
Miami – June 13, 2005 – EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, today announced the general release of the latest version of its web-based PrinterSite Internal sales force productivity application. EFI PrinterSite Internal 2.0 makes it easier for sales people to submit better quality RFQs (Request For Quote), in a more timely fashion, and improves estimator productivity by eliminating re-keying and mistakes. By enabling cycle time reductions in the quoting process, PrinterSite Internal can dramatically improve a company's bid-to-win ratio.
PrinterSite Internal 2.0 is an add-on module that is directly integrated with EFI Hagen OA, Logic SQL and PSI Print MIS systems. It is available today, and is currently in use by more than 70 printing companies in the US. The new version offers more than 100 new features and enhancements, including an all-new user interface. Many of the new features are the direct result of customer suggestions and feature requests.
“PrinterSite Internal 2.0 is popular among our Print MIS user community because of the tangible benefits it provides,” said Chuck Gehman, EFI Director of Product Marketing. “Improving estimator productivity, eliminating mistakes and turning quotes around more quickly are key drivers for printing profitability, and this application delivers those benefits.”
PrinterSite Internal 2.0 provides a dashboard view into production status for field personnel, eliminating telephone tag with plant personnel to further improve sales force productivity by keeping sales people on the street – selling. In addition, documents like Letter of Quote, Quote Detail Reports, Job Tickets, and pro-forma and final invoices are available to field personnel at the click of a mouse. Access to documents can be restricted by a new set of security controls built into the product.
“We've enjoyed the benefits of PrinterSite Internal for some time now, so we were eager to participate in the beta program for 2.0 this spring,” said Wayne Cochran, of Richmond, Virginia-based Worth Higgins & Associates, an EFI Hagen OA Print MIS user. “We were not disappointed. PrinterSite Internal has matured with the 2.0 release and includes many new features we had hoped for, plus some additional enhancements we hadn't even thought of. It's had a powerful influence on how we do things here and there's no doubt it will continue to do so.”
PrinterSite Internal 2.0 also provides powerful integration with EFI's MIS solutions, exposing the actual data dictionary of the Hagen, Logic or PSI Print MIS system to the web in a secure way. Sales people can fill out specification forms via any Internet-connected computer, including Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), whether from the client's office, from their car or from home.
With PrinterSite Internal, an administrator at a printing company creates any number of online specification forms that reflect the type of print products the company produces. Now with version 2.0, these spec forms can contain graphics and links to company or product specific web-based help systems that make it easier for sales people to input better quality specifications. The forms can also contain collapsible sections so that sales reps can go directly to the part of the form that is necessary for a particular job. Even custom fields that are unique to an individual company can be represented on the web-based forms. A new version of the EFI PrinterSite Internal Form Designer application, version 6.0, is also included to support the new features.
Key Product Highlights
PrinterSite Internal 2.0 is an entirely new system, and has several new key features:
New User Interface
The new PrinterSite Internal 2.0 user interface, which implements a “desktop metaphor,” features the ability to open multiple spec forms, letters of quote, quote details or other documents simultaneously. It's easier to compare one quote with another, or compare orders to quotes, as well as to copy a quote for use on another job. In addition, the ability to perform queries and searches, and save frequently used searches for “one-button” retrieval, makes sales people more productive.
New Form Designer 6.0
The new PrinterSite Internal Form Designer, version 6.0, introduces a number of new ease-of-use enhancements for building the online specification forms, and support for new web site features like Collapsible Sections, Images and Hyperlinks, PDA support and much more.
Multiple Letters of Quote
The Print MIS system can create any number of Letters of Quote formats (such as a specific format for a specific customer). The PrinterSite Internal 2.0 interface now lets the sales person select which letter they wish to have used with a particular quote, generate it as a PDF or as an RTF file (which allows editing), and then print or email it to a customer.
New Access Controls
With PrinterSite Internal 2.0, you may restrict access to particular documents by user ID. Examples of this functionality include restricting access to quote detail reports to certain sales reps, and controlling the specification forms that are available to an individual sales rep.
