Adobe Creative Suite Enhanced With New Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional

SAN JOSE, Calif.--Nov. 15, 2004-- Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced that Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional software will be integrated in Adobe Creative Suite Premium. Acrobat 7.0 Professional lets designers, publishers, ad agencies and print service providers dependably share files for commenting and proofing, fixing print output errors and optimizing Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files for production requirements.
Launched in October 2003, Adobe Creative Suite is enabling many leading publishers and today's creative professionals to transform print and cross-media workflows. Adobe Creative Suite users are able to increase their productivity through enhanced integration between the tools while maximizing their creativity by having easy access to the appropriate tool when needed. In addition, customers can be assured their investment in Adobe Creative Suite means they will always have the latest creative professional software. A tightly integrated component of Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat 7.0 Professional provides faster launch and PDF creation performance, stronger output preview, enhanced document collaboration capabilities and support for important industry standards such as PDF/X and Job Definition Format (JDF).

For the first time, Acrobat 7.0 Professional enables creative professionals to include anyone in the design review process by enabling access to commenting tools in the free Adobe Reader software. As a result, reviewers can mark up page layouts, proofs and other documents in PDF, without having to send paper documents back and forth. Additionally, Adobe Reader 7.0 users can accurately view PDF files containing overprints, which helps reduce costly print errors.
The addition of PDF correction tools to Acrobat 7.0 Professional corrects many common problems with print production PDF files. Tools to correct RGB color, transparency, hairlines and printer's marks are now available in Acrobat 7.0 Professional. A powerful output preview tool allows users to see common output errors on screen, including CMYK black, ink coverage limits and separation previews.
Acrobat 7.0 Professional supports an expanded number of print standards so creative professionals can output Adobe PDF files reliably and consistently. Newly supported standards include JDF and the latest PDF/X specifications. JDF product definitions ensure accurate job submissions to Adobe PDF print workflow systems. PDF/X is an industry standard for graphic arts file exchange, which virtually eliminates the most common errors in file preparation.

Acrobat 7.0 Professional will be available for an estimated street price of US$449. Registered users of Acrobat 4.0, Acrobat 5.0, Acrobat 6.0 Standard, or Acrobat 6.0 Professional can upgrade to Acrobat 7.0 Professional for an estimated street price of US$159. Users of Adobe Photoshop can upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite Premium 1.3 for an estimated street price of US$749. Full new versions of Adobe Creative Suite Premium 1.3 can be purchased for an estimated street price of US$1,229. Adobe Creative Suite Standard can be purchased for an estimated street price of US$999. For an estimated street price of US$159, registered Adobe Creative Suite Premium users can upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite Premium 1.3, which includes Acrobat 7.0 Professional.
Adobe Creative Suite Premium 1.3 for Mac OS X 10.2.4, Microsoft Windows 2000 (with Service Pack 2), and Windows XP Professional and Home Edition, is expected to ship in English by the end of the current calendar year, and in French, German and Japanese in early 2005.
