Relizon Recognizes Florida Plant for Outstanding Worker Safety Record
Press release from the issuing company
Dayton, OH -- December 17, 2003 -- The Relizon Company, a leading provider of business process solutions in document management, billing and relationship marketing, today announced that its St. Johns manufacturing plant in Jacksonville, Fla., was awarded the company's first Safety Excellence Award for working 13 years (1.5 million hours) without an OSHA lost-time accident.
"Our St. Johns workplace safety record is a remarkable achievement for a manufacturing facility in any industry," said Michael Anderson, senior vice president of sourcing and logistics services for Relizon's U.S. Business Communications Group. "We set the bar high for creating a safe workplace in all of our facilities across North America. But this level of achievement is the result of our St. Johns plant really taking that message to heart and consistently demonstrating excellence in all areas of safety." Relizon operates 45 manufacturing and distribution facilities across the U.S. and Canada.
When asked how the plant managed to avoid injuries for 13 years, plant manager Peter Saalfield replied, "It takes continued safety awareness from everyone in the plant. All of our employees know what it takes to work safely, and everyone always chooses to do the right thing."
The 37-person plant team was presented with a plaque recognizing their outstanding safety record, and each employee received an individual safety award.
