Nimrod Systems PolaProof: Rave Reviews from Top Chicago Ad Agencies

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, IL, December 13, 2001 – Nimrod Systems, Ltd., one of Chicago's newer and smaller imaging shops, has emerged as the choice of some of Chicago's oldest and biggest national ad agencies and design houses for high-end prepress work, and the quality and consistency of the ad proofs it delivers with its 4-Up PolaProof 2230 digital halftone proofing system from Polaroid Graphics Imaging (PGI). Young & Rubicam, Euro Latham, FCB, and the J. Brown subsidiary of Grey Advertising are some of the top agencies that Nimrod serves. Its design customers include Barnes Design Office, Lipson Alport Glass, Cole Partners and Hartford Design. Nimrod is very familiar with the unique requirements involved in producing ad work for major agencies and national campaigns. It involves producing several types of file formats for specific publications, managing closing dates for campaigns and making sure that every step is tracked and well documented. Waseem Jafar, owner of Nimrod notes that his is a business where art and science merge. "Our agency and design clients are very demanding," he says. "And that makes a good fit for us. We are totally dedicated to producing high-end work. That's why the PolaProof 2230 impressed us more than any other proofing system that we had researched. We feel it's the best proofing system on the market today." Mr. Jafar explains that the PolaProof system is used in the Nimrod workflow primarily to produce prepress proofs for random color and final ripped, trapped files. "The things that make the PolaProof 2230 stand out," he adds, "are the day-to-day consistency of the proofs and the real ink and real dots on real paper. The real paper is of particular importance to us because we can show ad work proofs with ink laid directly on SWOP-certified stock. They are beautiful proofs, and easy to match on press." At first, Nimrod's clients were a bit apprehensive of switching to PolaProof digital halftone proofs. "Once the ad agency and design clients saw their PolaProof proofs, particularly over time, the consistency, accuracy and overall quality became very apparent. They are excited about working with halftone proofs that they can have complete confidence in," Mr. Jafar says. But before installing the PolaProof system, even with his existing clients, Mr. Jafar says he had to ask for their trust in our making the right proofing system decision. "Purchasing an Approval would have been the path of least resistance, but I told them we would be providing a better proof with the PolaProof system. Now that they have seen the results, they all enthusiastically agree that PolaProof was the right decision." Apart from SWOP standard ink sheets, Mr. Jafar says Nimrod's PolaProof 2230 has other features that are important to his clients such as the capability to deliver very high line screens. "We often proof at 225 lines," he points out, "and recently we produced a big job that involved 450-line proofs on various coated stocks." "Based on our experience, there's no question that PolaProof digital halftone proofs are the best proofs for ad agencies and design houses in Chicago, or anywhere," Mr. Jafar concludes.
