Exstream Software to Partner w/ CreoScitex to Promote Variable Printing Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

September 5, 2001 Exstream Software, Inc., provider of Dialogue, a tightly integrated software solution for design through output of fully customized customer communications in high-volume environments—including both transaction and graphic arts documents—announced today a partnership with CreoScitex to provide integrated full color solutions. CreoScitex is the world's largest independent supplier of prepress systems and products, and manufacturer of the Spire server, a cutting-edge production color server. Dialogue combines advanced document composition, campaign management and tracking, and multi-channel delivery in one easy-to-use tool. Spire servers ensure superior productivity through a comprehensive workflow system that enables support from the pre-press process to the final printed copies. CreoScitex is the developer of Variable Print Specification, a specially designed Adobe PostScript-based language for the definition of Variable Information (VI) documents. Variable Print Specification is an intelligent language that provides a structured definition of the documents being processed. The Spire server architecture is designed to ensure optimum productivity for all VI jobs. Variable Print Specification, in conjunction with the Spire color server, enables processing at printer rated speed. Under the terms of the relationship, Exstream has added Variable Print Specification output to Dialogue v2.5, which will be generally available on September 15, 2001. Exstream will also generally promote the use of the Spire server in its marketing and sales efforts. CreoScitex will add Exstream to its most-favored category of Variable Print Specification Partners, and will promote Dialogue on its website, in advertisements, in brochures, at tradeshows and other marketing events. "We are very happy to add Exstream Software to our list of most-favored providers of Variable Print Specification," said David Nitsan, Business Development Manager at CreoScitex. "Our Spire color server customers will gain from Dialogue. It is impressive software that will enable our customers to address a wide variety of their high-volume, variable document requirements. Users of our complementary technologies will benefit from their superior quality, reliability and productivity, for which CreoScitex is renowned." "Xerox has been a great partner for us, and their new 2060 color digital presses, driven by the CreoScitex Spire server, are flying off the shelves," said Dan Kloiber, CTO and co-founder of Exstream Software. "Given the increasing market demand for software that handles both transaction and graphic arts documents in full color, and can support a variety of print and electronic delivery channels, it was a logical progression to add Variable Print Specification support in Dialogue." CreoScitex and Exstream will both be present at the Print 01 tradeshow in Chicago, September 6-13, 2001. Exstream will demonstrate Dialogue v2.5 in booth #6162 at the show, and will also form an integral part of the CreoScitex Variable Information Partners Display, on view at both the CreoScitex booth (#5710) and the Xerox booth (#8805).
