BindTech Enters The Edge Printing Game With Two New DIGI-B Machines

Press release from the issuing company

BindTech is excited to announce the acquisition of two state-of-the-art DIGI-B digital edge printing machines from Durrer. This investment will significantly elevate BindTech's edge finishing capabilities, offering customers unparalleled quality, efficiency, and customization.

The DIGI-B enables fully automatic 4-side printing on a wide range of products including book blocks, brochures, loose sheets, and already bound softcover books. While leveraging single-pass HP inkjet technology, the DIGI-B can deliver speeds of up to 18m/min while maintaining resolutions up to 1200x1200 dpi.

"We are thrilled to add the DIGI-B edge printing system to our platform," said CEO John Helline. "This is going to allow us to provide our customers brilliant, durable edge printing with fast turnarounds. It's a real game-changer for BindTech and the industry as a whole."

While edge printing maybe the future, BindTech has been a player in the edge decoration game for decades. As the nation’s premier provider for edge staining and gilding, it was important for the BindTech team to continue to push the creative envelope.

“Our customers are always asking for unique ways to elevate the impact and value of their products and for a long time our response has been for them to look at staining or gilding.” Helline added, “while those continue to be a huge markets for us, we believe edge printing offers the best of both worlds by providing customers with full color images at a low price point.”

BindTech’s first DIGI-B will go live in September with a second set to arrive in early 2025. To request a quote or learn more about BindTech's edge printing capabilities contact Aaron Cunningham.
