SCREEN Finalizes Development of Truepress PAC 520P and Launches Digital Primer Option for Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI S

Press release from the issuing company

KYOTO, Japan—SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd., also referred to as SCREEN GA, announces advancements to its label and packaging division including the final development of the Truepress PAC 520P and the introduction of a digital primer option for its flagship label press, the Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI S. The developments are a testament to SCREEN’s commitment to the highly regulated flexible packaging market and the growing label industry.

A water-based inkjet press designed for paper packaging, the Truepress PAC 520P can accommodate paper up to 520 millimeters wide and run at speeds up to 80 meters per minute. The Truepress PAC 520P uses newly developed proprietary aqueous pigment inks that comply with food-safety regulations. Additionally, the press offers eco-friendly solutions including the use of lightweight, easily recyclable bag-in-box units for ink tanks. With its small footprint, commercial and label printers can easily and seamlessly expand into the paper packaging market without having to make a huge investment in facility space.

Now available for the Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI S press is a digital primer that addresses one of the biggest challenges in UV digital inkjet printing—poor ink adhesion on certain substrates. Once solved by pre-priming the full substrate surface before printing the labels, poor ink adhesion is now addressed with the digital primer—which is printed immediately prior to the label image, eliminating the requirement to pre-coat, reducing chemistry, and retaining the surface characteristics of the label substrate. The Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI S is equipped to print on multiple substrates using CMYK, orange, blue and white ink. By incorporating the digital primer directly inside the press, label printers can now save time and resources.
