Velocity Print Solutions Looks Forward to Increased Speed to Market With a Five-color Komori LS40 Press with LED-UV

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL — Komori America—Komori America announces that Velocity Print Solutions, a print and promotional products supplier in Schenectady County, New York has purchased a five-color, 40-inch Komori LS press equipped with coater and LED-UV (LS540+C) to increase the efficiency and speed to market for the customized marketing materials, printed solutions and promotional products it produces. When deciding to invest in a new press, the company chose to replace its older Komori with the Komori LS540+C with LED-UV for its known quality, flexibility and high-speed operation.

“When we determined the ROI for this press, we anticipated we would be markedly more productive with the press’ ability to print at remarkable speeds. It will increase our impressions per hour by almost 40%, making it possible for us to produce almost double the work in an hour than we are doing now with the older press,” said David Benny, president of Velocity Print. “We are also excited about the addition of LED-UV capabilities. We can now offer customers amazing special effects, such as soft-touch knockouts and reticulated coatings that will add vivid color on uncoated paper, differentiating their marketing materials.”

The company plans to enjoy a more efficient, streamlined production process with the addition of LED-UV, which will significantly shorten the time from receipt of materials to delivery because finishing work such as cutting, die cutting and folding can be performed immediately. Additionally, as with other print providers in this industry, Velocity Print is experiencing the aging out of operators. To prepare for this, it has put an apprentice program in place to train new operators. Velocity Print anticipates the intuitiveness of the technology inherent in the Komori presses will help operators get up to speed more quickly.

“Investing in this press allows us to grow to the next level. Komori’s technology is extremely intuitive and user-friendly, making it possible to enhance both productivity and workflow efficiency and contribute to increased profitability,” said Benny. “Everything about this new press is exciting for us as a company.”
