Modex Exhibitions Orders Mimaki JFX600-2531 UV-LED Flatbed and EFI Pro 32r+ Dedicated Roll-to-Roll UV LED Printer from CMYUK

Press release from the issuing company

CMYUK, Shrewsbury: Modex Exhibitions, the custom modular stand builder has ordered a Mimaki JFX600-2531 UV LED flatbed and EFI Pro 32r+ dedicated roll-to-roll UV LED printer from CMYUK. The new equipment will be installed at its premises in Banbury, near Oxford.

Modex Exhibitions was the first business in the industry to offer the all-inclusive fixed exhibition stand pricing that includes project management, H&S risk assessment, full colour graphics to all visible walls, design and re-design where required, hire of all structural elements, raised floor to allow for the invisible routing of cables, lighting and cable management, choice of carpet or wood effect vinyl flooring, fridge, furniture package, display screens with USB media players, transport, installation, plus removal.

Last year, the company produced between 80 – 120 stands per month for multiple industries, across 40 venues in the UK and Europe. It’s latest investment swops out two older Mimaki UV LED printers with the latest generation digital printer equipment that offers higher quality at faster speeds for increased capacity.

“I have known Sue Hayward, the Commercial Director of CMYUK professionally for many years, so when it came to replacing our print equipment, she was the first port of call. We have bought hardware and materials from CMYUK for several years now. It has a portfolio of world class products and does a very good job of guiding you to the right equipment for your current needs and future requirements. We’re very happy with the service we get, and know should we have any issues at all, we can just phone and they will be dealt with, which for a time critical business is very reassuring,” says Rob.

Mimaki JFX600-2513 UV-LED flatbed printer
The Mimaki JV600-2513 UV LED flatbed printer represents the seventh generation of Mimaki’s UV LED flatbed print technology. Offering a maximum print area of 2.5m x 1.3 m and a media thickness of 60mm, it offers a resolution of up to 1200dpi and max speeds of up to 200 sq. m per hr, up 330% when compared to its predecessor the JFX500-2131. Available in six colours including White and Clear, it also offers multi-texturing for value-added prints, has a bed size that’s perfect for 4’ x 8’ boards and supports greater automation for labour saving processes.

“We’ve been really happy with our old Mimaki flatbed, they are robust, reliable and just do what we need them to do on a daily basis, so why wouldn’t we continue that experience and also benefit from the improvements that the new generation printer offers?’” says Rob.

EFI Pro 32r+ dedicated roll-fed UV LED printer
The EFI Pro 32r+ UV LED dedicated roll to roll model is a multi-feature, production level printer. It provides users with the ability to achieve faster turnarounds, and confidently commit to larger capacity print runs. It includes an integrated mesh kit, wrinkle analyser, and backlit proofing lights. With quick and easy material loading, it handles rolls up to 3.2m wide plus dual roll printing (2 x 1.6m). Featuring a resolution of 1200 dpi, the Pro 32r+ offers white and/or clear ink options.

Powered by cool cure LED technology, the Pro 32r+ is compatible with a wider range of substrates including lower-cost and specialty media. Operationally it improves uptime and productivity with instant on/off functionality and less maintenance. It also significantly reduces energy consumption to 1.8kW when compared the 10kW rate attributed to Mercury LED lamps. In addition, consistent colour and simple operation substantially decrease waste.

The Pro 32r+ is equipped with various value-added options to elevate its utility. A unique roll-to-roll workflow automates the complete printing and finishing process on-the-fly, while double-sided printing, vertical slitting and trimming, plus Media Wizard to improve stock management of remaining material roll lengths, and printing customer information on the front of the media, is also available.

“Our rate of growth has led us to an EFI industrial roll-to-roll printer. We need greater capacity, increased speeds and faster throughput, and we’re sure that the 32r+ will deliver on all fronts,” says Rob.

UFabrik Blackback UV
Modex also purchases its materials from CMYUK and now exclusively uses UFabrik Blackback UV for all its stand build work. “Initially, we were attracted to UFabrik because of the cost savings when compared to the material we were using before, but we were soon impressed with the colour reproduction, consistency, and the workability of the textile. When printing for these modular stands precision is vital, and UFabrik has just enough ‘give’ to really ensure real accuracy of installation,” says Rob.

The business purchases consignment stock from CMYUK to safeguard against depleted inventories. This ensures a higher degree of flexibility, enabling the business to cope with non-forecasted peaks as well as servicing its regular monthly volumes. Buying in bulk like this, also means significantly fewer customer deliveries, reducing costs, and less environmental impact thanks to a lower carbon footprint.

As far as the future is concerned its business as usual for Modex but at increasing volumes. Says Rob, “Apart from the Pandemic, we’ve been growing year on year by about 20%. CMYUK has been a great partner for us, and we expect the new equipment to drive our productivity to increased levels.”
