printCafe Execs Appointed to Advisory Boards Industry's Leading Associations

Press release from the issuing company

PITTSBURGH, PA (February 15, 2001) - printCafe (TM), the operating system for print (TM), congratulates Filip Buyse and Paul Gaboury on their respective appointments to the advisory boards of two leading print industry associations, the Web Printing Association (WPA) for non-heatset/ coldset printers and the International Cooperation for the Integration of Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress (CIP4). Buyse, Vice President of National Sales for printCafe, was appointed to the Supplier Advisory Board for the WPA, a special industry group of Printing Industries of America (PIA). Supplier representatives on the WPA Supplier Advisory Board are appointed from companies representing 11 important supplier market segments such as the ink, presses, and paper markets. The Supplier Advisory Board provides information and direction to the WPA which, in turn, helps printers to evaluate the role certain products and services play in the industry. The WPA advises non-heatset/ coldest printers of changing technologies, opportunities, and problems through management and technical programs and publications. The group also assumes the primary role of developing the content for the Web Printing Association's Annual Conference Program. In addition to Buyse's recognition as a thought leader in the industry, Paul Gaboury, printCafe's integration expert, will serve as the company's representative to the CIP4 organization's Advisory Board, the highest authority in CIP4. The Advisory Board shapes the organization's direction and agenda. With the new Advisory Board in place, CIP4 will now begin administration of the Job Definition Specification (JDF). JDF, an emerging standard administered by CIP4 in the print production market, is an XML-based print workflow specification. As a member of the Board, Gaboury will help to finalize Version 1.0 of the JDF specification, and will help to determine the role JDF will play in the printing and publishing industries in the future.
