Digimarc and Vyou to Offer Images Management and Protection

Press release from the issuing company

TUALATIN, Ore., February 8, 2001 - Digimarc (NASDAQ:DMRC) announced today its partnership with Vyou Inc. to provide Digimarc and Vyou customers with the ability to more effectively manage, protect and track their digital assets on the Web. The combination of these technologies helps prevent copying of images from Websites, enables communication of copyrights, and links potential licensees to image-related information and commerce opportunities across the Internet. "Digimarc has long been recognized as a leader and proponent of technologies that support the rights of intellectual property owners," said Shel Virden, vice president, marketing & corporate development for Vyou. "Vyou's leadership in protecting online content combined with Digimarc's expertise in digital watermarking technology, provides our customers with the most extensive online protection available in today's market." Using Digimarc's ImageBridge™ family of products, content owners can embed unique, imperceptible Digimarc IDs into images to manage and track their digital assets as they travel across the Web. Vyou's Vyoufirst™ technology allows the image to be viewed but not captured using "save" or "print" functions. Instead, the viewer will be alerted to copyright notification and opportunities to purchase the image. "Enterprises and creative professionals are determined to protect their digital assets from misuse. The partnership between Digimarc and Vyou Inc. will allow them to do just that. Our partnership provides customers with the comprehensive capabilities they need to protect images from unauthorized copying, communicate copyrights, and enable them to increase effective image commerce across the Web," said Reed Stager, vice president and general manager for Digimarc MediaCommerce.
