Canon Promotes “See Impossible” and “One Canon” Themes at Press Event

At an industry analyst/journalist summit held early this month, Canon unveiled its “One Canon” approach to the business, further integrating Canon U.S.A. Business Group, Canon Solutions America and Canon Information & Imaging Solutions to provide a seamless customer experience. WhatTheyThink Senior Editor Cary Sherburne also interviewed Canon Americas Chairman & CEO and Senior Managing Director of Canon Inc. Joe Adachi during the event.

Earlier this month, Canon hosted a summit for 41 industry analysts and journalists designed to tell the larger Canon story framed around its theme of See Impossible. Throughout the event, company presenters emphasized that Canon U.S.A. and Canon Solutions America, which had been operating somewhat separately since Canon Solutions America was formed following Canon’s acquisition of Océ, are now bringing a more integrated approach as One Canon  to customers that leverages its entire portfolio throughout the Americas.

Canon Americas Chairman & CEO and Senior Managing Director of Canon Inc. Joe Adachi kicked off the event by talking about the scope of Canon offerings, including the fact that Canon predicts approximately 70% of the professional cameras covering the Rio Olympics were branded Canon, including underwater cameras, an impressive achievement.

Canon worldwide generated $31.4 billion in revenues last year, 30% of which was generated by the Americas. Office sales (which include production printing) represented 56%; imaging systems represented 33%; and industrial and other made up the balance.
